My arms are bare
I'm all striped down
This must be what a tree feels like
With its leaves on the ground
Just like new growth
Reaching high toward the sky
For every new beginning
Something old has to die
Year after year
Life cycles around
Spring blossoms will bloom
Fall leaves on the ground
Once bare limbs
Will once again grow and thrive
Every year theres a new beginning
A fresh start at life

You Are
You are the color
In black and white
You are the light
That shines in the night
You are the key
That unlocks my heart
You are the flower
Amongst the weeds in the yard
You are the first thought
I think of when I wake
You are the truth
That pours out when I pray
You are the calm
In the midst of the storm
The blanket that surrounds me
And keeps me warm
You are the wish
That I make on a star
You are that hope
My friend, that you are
In black and white
You are the light
That shines in the night
You are the key
That unlocks my heart
You are the flower
Amongst the weeds in the yard
You are the first thought
I think of when I wake
You are the truth
That pours out when I pray
You are the calm
In the midst of the storm
The blanket that surrounds me
And keeps me warm
You are the wish
That I make on a star
You are that hope
My friend, that you are
